Week 1

Build the habit

Red + infrared light, 15 min. Heat and vibration optional if you find them comfortable. You may not notice anything yet — that's completely normal. The habit starts here.

Week 2

Activate the response

You add heat. Some people start noticing less stiffness when they wake up and better tolerance to movement during the day. Heat is indicated for chronic conditions. Do not use with recent injuries, acute inflammation or swelling — in those cases use light only.

Week 3

Consolidate

Full mode — light + heat + vibration. Most people notice something concrete this week.

Week 4

Evaluate and decide

Don't look for "pain-free". Look for direction. If the direction is positive — even slightly — the protocol is working.

What is the 4-Week Llunea Protocol?

It's the usage system designed by Oscar Pablo Madrid, a physiotherapist with over 20 years of experience. It divides the first 4 weeks into phases with clear goals: building the habit, activating the response, consolidating the effect, and evaluating results. It's included printed inside the box and in an email sequence you'll receive after your purchase.

Can I use the heat if I have a recent injury?

Heat is indicated for chronic conditions — osteoarthritis, contractures, chronic back pain, muscle stiffness, chronic tendinopathies. It is not recommended for recent injuries, sprains, acute inflammation or swelling. In those cases use red + infrared light only, without heat. If you have any doubts about your situation, consult your physiotherapist.

When will I start noticing results?

The Llunea Protocol is structured across 4 weeks with clear goals in each. Most people start noticing something concrete in week 3. Week 1 is an adaptation phase — if you don't notice anything yet, that's completely normal.

Can I use it if I have diagnosed osteoarthritis?

Photobiomodulation has been extensively studied in patients with osteoarthritis, with positive results. It is generally compatible with most treatments. Consult your doctor if you have any doubts about your specific case.

Does it fit all knee sizes?

Yes. The adjustable velcro system fits knee circumferences between 30 and 50 cm, covering the vast majority of sizes.

Can I skip days?

The protocol works through accumulation — each session builds on the previous one. Skipping occasional days isn't a problem, but consistency is the most important factor. The best time to use it is the time you can repeat tomorrow too.

Is it safe to use every day?

Yes. Red and near-infrared light are not UV radiation — they don't burn or damage the skin. It's safe for daily use. If you have a pacemaker or other electronic implant, consult your doctor before using.

How long should I continue after the 4 weeks?

The 4 weeks are the activation phase. For a consolidated effect, Oscar recommends a minimum of 8–12 weeks. After that, most people move to a daily maintenance session — 15–20 minutes, full mode.

What if it doesn't work for me?

We recommend completing the 4-Week Protocol before evaluating results — that's the minimum time tissue needs to respond. If after that you notice no change at all, we'll refund you in full and arrange the collection. No awkward questions.

How long does the battery last?

The built-in rechargeable battery allows several full sessions on a single charge. Charging is via USB-C.
